I had to make a lightening trip to DC from Chicago in order to submit a visa application for an upcoming trip abroad. No hotels were really convenient to "my" embassy on Mass Ave, but this Days Inn was close enough and (while nothing close to a bargain) significantly cheaper than any of the alternatives. (I had stayed before at the other hotel I considered north of Dupont Circle, and it was a bit fancier but also $60 more per night. Everything else was over $200 before taxes, in some cases a lot more.) I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The staff members were really friendly (and very patient with the numerous foreign visitors), my room was clean and comfortable, the hotel was easy to reach from National Airport via the Metro's Blue and Red Lines, and the surrounding area was lively (during the day) and safe. Right next to the UDC/Van Ness Metro station is a CVS and a Giant grocery store. I would consider staying here for a leisure visit.

I got a good deal on Booking.com, so I felt the price was very good. But when I read previous reviews about Days Inn at Wyndham Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue, I became worried that it would be a dismal experience. Nonetheless I was pleasantly surprised to find a very spacious and clean room, with sparkling white beddings, a very comfortable bed, great atmosphere and very clean towels. The room did not have all the bells and whistles, but it met every basic need for a one-night stay. The staff were amazing! I don't like elevators, and the staff accommodated my request for a room on a lower floor. But because there was no staircase to use. I still had to use the elevator. When I had issues with using the room card to operate the elevator, one of the staff kindly came to help me. When I needed water and could not find any in the vending machine, one of the staff gave me her own unopened bottle of water. They were simply terrific in attending to guests.

Convenient to the metro, (Van Ness)& the DC University Great staff, especially Gloria, Nora,Marcus & a wonderful man who was cleaning up the property outside & saw I was struggling to get my suitcase in the car & helped me & asked if he could help with anything else accommodating, friendly, professional, totally excellent! The beds were very comfortable , many pillows, room was a good size, & very clean. If you want a refrigerator you have to reserve one it costs 15$/night but it also comes with a microwave ( the refrigerator was the coldest refrigerator I have ever used in a hotel, the best. The price can’t be beat for being so close to DC proper . The parking is 25$/night which is a steal for hotel parking in a big metropolitan city. After 6:30 pm on a Saturday night until Monday morning the meters are free. It’s a quiet, safe neighborhood closes early. We really loved our stay here

The location is just great! The price is amazing for being able to reach the center of city in about 30 minutes by train. The room is old, but not as bad as other reviews say. I don't like to clean my room every day, so it was great that cleaning was by request only. There are several places to eat nearby, a supermarket and a drugstore.

Having stayed here on numerous occasions, I am always impressed by the consistency of good service -- that makes a difference. It is also well positioned to the METRO, a supermarket, CVS and a few local restaurants, which is perfect for a business trip. It is also very quiet, even when it's busy.
